Katsch, Abraham

Katsch, Abraham
(b. 1908)
   American educator. He was born in Poland and emigrated to the US in 1925. He joined the staff of New York University in 1933 and taught Hebrew education and culture. From 1957 he served as director of the university's Hebrew language and liter-ature section, and from 1962 was director of its Institute of Hebrew Studies. In 1967 he became president of Dropsie College. His writings include Judaism in Islam.
